Calgary Stampede Parking: Where to Park & Save

Updated June 1, 2026

The Calgary Stampede (early-to-mid July) brings huge crowds to Stampede Park, and parking demand spikes accordingly. With a bit of planning you can avoid the priciest lots and the worst of the traffic.

On-grounds vs. nearby parking

On-grounds Stampede Park lots run about $30 day-of (first-come) and around $65 for pre-purchased reserved parking, and they fill early. If you’re willing to walk 10–15 minutes, downtown and East Village parkades — with their $6 evening caps outside peak event windows — are dramatically cheaper.

The smartest option: take the CTrain

The Victoria Park–Stampede and Erlton/Stampede CTrain stations are right at the grounds, and the City runs extra service during Stampede. Park free or cheap at a suburban park-and-ride lot, or anywhere downtown in the evening, and ride in — you’ll skip the parking lineups entirely.

The 7th Avenue downtown free-fare zone means short hops through the core cost nothing.
